a mini celebration & a big thank you

Bring out the champagne flutes and sparkling apple juice, kids!  It’s time to celebrate!

Why is it celebration time, you may ask?  There are many causes of celebration.  I’ll list them out for you:

  • I’ve hit over 100 followers on my blog.  What!?  It feels weird that I’ve made it to such an important milestone.  That’s a huge audience I’m projecting to!  I will be continuing to write content, and I’m honored and beyond grateful for your support and love.  THANK YOU.
  • I’ve been chosen to be an OwlCrate and LitJoyCrate representative!  Was.  Not.  Expecting.  That.  At.  All.  I’ve experienced the disappointment of not being chosen before, so my expectations were low when I entered these Instagram rep searches.  I’ve never been able to afford the boxes themselves, so this chance was all I got.  You can say I screamed when these two awesome companies messaged me to tell me their decisions.  A huge shoutout to OwlCrate and LitJoyCrate for giving me an opportunity to receive their boxes!  Expect lots unboxing posts in the future.  *wink*  (also, if you’re planning on ordering an OwlCrate subscription, my code “PAPER15” will get you 15% off your first order!  you can thank me later. 😉 )
  • 13,000 lovely people.  I’ve also recently reached 13k on my Instagram.  Though it may not seem a lot to some people, when you put it into perspective, 13,000 people is a ton.    The younger version of me a year ago would never believe it.  Every single one of those people have supported me in one way or another, and I’m thankful for it.  I wouldn’t be where I’m at without you guys!  I’m only hoping that our family will be growing bigger so we can all share our love of literature.
  • I’VE FINALLY STARTED QUEEN OF SHADOWS (AND I’M ACTUALLY ENJOYING IT)!  While this may seem minor to the reasons listed above, you should know that I love and adore the Throne of Glass series, and my heart wasn’t there to read it when QoS came out because of the romance (yup you know what I’m talking about) and plot line.  I told myself I’d start it in a week, and that week turned into ten months (wow, Linh, good job!).  Finally, on July 19, 2016, I picked up the 600-page beast, and read 200 pages by the next day.  Yes, I’m motivated to read it.  Yes, it’s a good read and has hooked me in.  No, I don’t love it.  But alas, I have 400 pages to make my final judgement, and I can guarantee a ranty- review in the near future!

That’s all I have to say.  Thanks for being awesome.  You guys are the bomb.

Until next time,

  2. THIRTEEN THOUSAND. WOW. MIND BLOWN. I seriously love your bookstagram (I’ve actually been going on an unfollowing spree because I’m following over 1300 people? bad ratio??) and it’s one of the best I’ve seen! It’s truly lovely, and you’re so good at picture-taking!

    1. helen thank you! your words make me want to run around in a field of daisies happily (as always haha) and no having a bad following/follower ratio isn’t a big deal (as long as the accounts you’re following are worth it! 😉 )
